Professionals and Welfare Organisations
AniMap works in partnership with police forces, dog wardens, local authorities, and rescue centres, supporting them with fast database access, reliable keeper identification, and dedicated assistance to help lost or stray pets get reunited with their owners as quickly and safely as possible.
Our support line is available around the clock, and organisations can also create a free account to gain secure, direct access to the AniMap database.
This allows you to run microchip searches instantly and, if a chip belongs to another registry, you'll be guided to the correct provider without delay.
Creating an Account
To gain professional access, submit a Welfare application through the AniMap portal or below.
After registering, you may be asked to provide supporting documentation for verification.
Once approved, you can sign in and use the features available to your role.
Microchip Searches
Use the Microchip Search tool to enter a chip number and check the AniMap database instantly. If the chip is not registered with AniMap, the system will automatically direct you to the appropriate DEFRA-compliant database with contact details so the reunification process can continue without delay.
Authorised Searches
Accounts with enhanced permissions will see a dedicated Search option within their dashboard. This allows legally authorised lookups where you will be asked to record a valid reason, and all activity is securely logged.
Search Process
- Open the Authorised Chip Search tool
- Enter the microchip number
- Provide a search reason if prompted
Information You Can See
- Pet details: name, species or breed, colour/markings, date of birth, implant date, and notes (where available)
- Keeper details: visible when consent has been granted or your account holds higher authorisation
- Temporary contact: shown if the owner has assigned one, along with expiry date
- Registered veterinary practice: displayed if provided by the keeper
Consent & Visibility
Owner contact information is governed by consent settings and your account's permission level. In some cases only limited data will be shown. If further assistance is required, AniMap's support team is available to help guide the next steps.
